J-Lab is seeking an independent contractor to work as a part-time web and social media editor. Web editor is responsible for producing and updating content onwww.J-Lab.org and its four affiliated websites (KCNN.org, J-Learning.org,J-NewVoices.org, NewMediaWomen.org). Web editor also manages online pages for grant applications and award entries and produces web metric reports for J-Lab grant reports. All J-Lab's websites operate on an Expression Engine content management system, but familiarity with web coding is helpful.
Lead Instructor for the Youth Media Festival Committee
Wide Angle Youth Media is seeking an experienced part-time lead instructor to facilitate Wide Angle Youth Media’s Festival Committee. The committee which is comprised of 8 high school students from schools all around Baltimore City. Throughout the academic year, the committee meets twice a week for two hours to learn event planning, practice public speaking, and gain familiarity with a variety of mediums. Through a participatory process they establish entry guidelines, jury artwork, curate the festival, develop marketing and promotional materials, and assist Wide Angle staff with the exhibition, gallery talk, and festival logistics. The lead teacher will work with the committee as they create this year’s festival identity and develop outreach materials to promote key events.
Development and Communications Associate
The Development and Communications associate is a full working member of the Prometheus team working to support the efforts of the operations and campaign directors. This is a 24 hour per week position with the possibility of full time employment in July 2012.
Story Pirates Teaching Artist
We are currently looking for new teaching artists to work in our Los Angeles-based after-school programs and in-school residencies. Prospective teachers should have at least 2 years of experience working with kids, either in a classroom or alternative educational setting, and should be VERY comfortable being dramatic, silly, and ready to think on their feet. Our teaching artists work as a team to engage kids using our curriculum, which is packed full of Viking costumes, giant plush monster attacks, secretive extra-terrestrial organizations, and evil monarchs bent on taking over your classroom.
