Re:place’s thematic focus was on "place" and the migration of knowledge in the interdisciplinary contexts of art, historiography, science, and technology.
(RE)CONSIDER (RE)MIX (RE)FLOW
Reconsider, remix, reflow from the past into the future. The thread
that runs through the subjects of all these essays is that of creating
dynamic communities and making welcoming places where the artist can be
emboldened to try out new ideas or new processes and to break out of
the rigid patterns of conventional media storytelling structures.

VALUE
Picturing a radical future - again! Of course, I know we are in for four more years of eroded rights. Of
course, I can anticipate the continued war with Iraq, the capitalist
schemes that further only a meager percentage of the population, and
battles where church and state are conflated. Of course, the things
that I value are devalued: education, history, diversity, culture. We
live in a state based on lies and deceit, built on fear and consumption.
