"Sean McLaughlin is a community media developer, building broadband media access through innovative community based collaborations and social enterprise. Based on the Redwood Coast of California, he serves as executive director of Access Humboldt and founder of Digital Redwoods. McLaughlin is a fellow with ZeroDivide, Boardmember of the Alliance for Communications Democracy and advisor to advocacy groups including the Media and Democracy Coalition. He has provided expert testimony at local, state and federal proceedings before legislative and regulatory agencies, presented and moderated panels at international conferences, published articles, and served as editor of national publications. Previously in Hawai'i, he was an award winning TV director, co-founder of the Human Services TV Network, lecturer at University of Hawai'i on ""Politics of Media,"" Director of Telecommunications for the Honolulu City Council, and CEO of Akaku: Maui Community TV.
