Online Community Renovation

The Online Community Renovation is a knowledge-sharing project that seeks to deepen, broaden, and connect conversations taking place within and among our social networks.
NAMAC was founded thirty years ago by media arts leaders who recognized the power of working as a united force. Since then, NAMAC has developed programming to allow members to connect, coach one another, and share strategies.
New technologies have dramatically enhanced the scale of possibilities for collaborative work. The divide between the content consumer and content producer continues to blur while at the same time, this day and age requires leaders that are plugged in, flexible to change, and connected-- both online and in person.
Spearheaded by Donna, the Online Community Manager, our first initiative is an overhaul of our blog. We are inviting bloggers to share analysis and tools on topics ranging from media distribution to nonprofit management to social media integration.
Our goal is to provide a space for both established and rising media arts leaders to engage across relevant sectors and emerging bodies of knowledge. Here, community media workers can engage with policy wonks, filmmakers can explore nonprofit organizing models, and arts advocates can tune in to the latest academic findings.
We also recognize the evolving nature of interactive media. Please note that the concept is still in development and will continue to be live-edited as we build out our renovation.
Stay tuned for news on our forthcoming projects, and feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions with us.
