Open Space Session

Start Time:
11:00 am, Fri (Aug 28) - 11:00 am, Sat (Aug 29)

“Open Space Technology” is a facilitation process for self-organizing in meetings. The participants construct the agenda and schedule during the meeting itself. This is an opportunity to organize discussions or skill shares on hot topics that may not be addressed in our curated panels and workshops.

During this session, we will invite all conference participants to come together to identify any issues or discussion opportunities relevant to our gathering of media and arts leaders. Participants who wish to raise a topic will announce it to the group, choose a time and place for the session, and post it to our agenda.

Discussions may take place during the 90-minute session after the agenda is created, or they may be scheduled for another time during the conference. We will run Open Space sessions alongside the other concurrent workshops from Thursday through Saturday, and this is the time to develop and schedule them.

Check the Info Desk in the Plaza Ballroom throughout the conference for the agenda for Open Space sessions.

Keep in mind the four principles and one law of Open Space:
· Whoever comes are the right people.
· Whatever happens is the only thing that could have.
· Whenever it starts is the right time.
· When it’s over, it’s over.
· The Law of Two Feet: If at any time in a session you find yourself in a situation where you are not learning or contributing, use your two feet. Go somewhere where you may learn and contribute.
