Call for Ideas : What We’re Looking For
As we develop the program for CommonWealth, we’d especially love to see your ideas on:
Best practices: Is there a successful activity in your community or state that could be an exciting model for other organization across the country to replicate? This could be a successful advocacy campaign, legislative victory, a model alliance or collaboration, innovative outreach project, new exhibition/curatorial strategies, creative fundraising approaches, or exciting use of new technology.
New developments: With politics, economics, demographics, and technology rapidly shifting, this conference aims to help the media arts and visual arts communities make sense of it all. Please suggest key topics to address or savvy thinkers and artists who are presenting critical analysis relevant to our fields.
Capacity building: Are there specific skills that you think many individuals or organizations in the field need to develop? Or are you a trainer willing to host a workshop relevant to our constituency?
Diversity: It’s common to receive an array of suggestions for speakers, performers, and honorees who skew toward the older, male, white, and straight demographics. Please help put forward young people, women, people of color, LGBT-identified, and other traditionally under-represented voices.
