Yolanda Hippensteele hired as NAMAC’s 2009 Conference Producer

NAMAC is pleased to announce the appointment of Yolanda Hippensteele as the Conference Producer for CommonWealth, our 2009 Conference taking place in Boston from August 26-29 at the Park Plaza Hotel. Yolanda comes to NAMAC with 10 years' experience as an organizer advocating for progressive issues and candidates, developing high-impact campaigns, building coalitions, and producing large-scale events. She was a founding staff member and Outreach Director of the national media policy organization Free Press where she produced four installations of their high-profile National Conference for Media Reform. Also during her tenure at Free Press, Yolanda built the organization's field program, developed multimedia outreach materials, and ran successful policy campaigns including the Stop Big Media campaign. During the 2008 election cycle, Yolanda helped start and ran Vote Today Ohio, a get-out-the-vote campaign for new and unlikely voters. Her prior work includes positions at the Independent Media Institute and the DC public affairs firm Bass & Howes.
