2009 Capacity Building Support Grants Recipients

NAMAC is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2009 Capacity Building Support Grants.

NAMAC's Capacity Building Support Grants help organizations plan for and invest in valuable capacity building projects. Offered on an annual basis these grants have been used for projects that strengthen internal operations and systems; support internal governance and leadership development; develop strategic fiscal and human resources; and create innovative strategies for community engagement and support.

On December 1, 2008, NAMAC awarded seven $3,000 grants to a variety of projects, ranging from strategic planning to space planning to business planning. NAMAC received 50 competitive and worthy proposals for this funding cycle. The recipients of the 2009 Capacity Building Support Grants are:

Center for Contemporary Arts Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM) for strategic planning.

Electronic Arts Intermix (New York, NY) for technology planning.

Free Speech Radio News (Santa Rosa, CA) for fund development.

Lowell Telecommunications Corporation (Lowell, MA) for a feasibility study.

Media Arts Center San Diego (San Diego,  CA) for business planning.

The San Francisco Film Society (San Francisco, CA) for database integration.

Wide Angle Youth Media (Baltimore, MD) for strategic planning.

NAMAC's Capacity Building Support Grants are funded by The Nathan Cummings Foundation, The Fledgling Fund, and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
