The UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive
(BAM/PFA) is the visual arts center of the University of California,
Berkeley. The Pacific Film Archive is an internationally recognized
center for the exhibition, collection, and study of film and video. For
over thirty years, PFA has presented a comprehensive exhibition program
of world cinema and video seeking to introduce new works as well as
reexamine and rediscover works from the past. The PFA Library and Film
Study Center provides access to information services, the film and
poster collections, books and periodicals, festival and clippings
files, and research screenings facilities. The PFA moving image
collection is comprised of approximately 10,000 films and videoworks
with particular strengths in American avant garde, Soviet-era cinema,
and Japanese feature films.
