NOVAC Digital Media Institute Program Manager
POSITION: DMI Program Manager
STATUS: Full-time, Salaried, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
Summary: NOVAC’s DMI Program Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the training program called the Digital Media Institute. Courses are offered in a wide variety of creative media applications (for example: motion picture editing, graphic design, 3D animation, videography, etc.) This position includes developing training programs and curricula, managing instructor and client relationships and remaining compliant with corporate partners such as Apple, as well as significant sales of classes to individuals, companies, schools and organizations.
Experience, Education, Skills
- Knowledge of the technical aspects of creative media production and post-production required
- A passion for the mission of the organization and its programs, and a sensitivity to the cultural landscape in which we operate
- An Associates or Bachelors degree is strongly preferred; 5-7+ years experience with film production will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
- Proficiency in MAC OS and Windows OS required
- Working knowledge of popular multi-media software applications required (particularly graphic design, nonlinear editing and 2D and 3D animation)
- Experience with audio/video equipment strongly preferred (HD videography, field audio recording, non-linear editing)
- Ability to research and stay abreast of national and regional digital media trends
- Experience with website content management systems and database management strongly preferred
- 2-5 years experience with training programs through a non-profit, educational, trade association or corporate learning environment strongly preferred
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative analysis an absolute must. Ability to translate data and analysis into useful managerial reports
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple, competing priorities
- Self-starter and fast learner with excellent attention to detail and strong problem solving abilities
- Mature understanding of responsibility and accountability in a team work environment
- Ability to work in a small, non-traditional workspace, with much shared responsibility
- Experience in marketing services, especially through online outlets, a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude / strong work ethic
- Well-developed conceptual understanding
- Ability to function in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment
- Ability to manage work load without close supervision
- Willingness to complete software and writing tests as part of the interview process
Principal Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain calendar of class offerings on a regular basis; DMI is a strategic program of NOVAC’s, therefore attention to both the big picture and minute details is required; classes offered should be both useful and relevant to program, industry, and community needs, as well as cutting edge
- Develop curricula for classes
- Hire and develop instructors for classes
- Market DMI offerings for maximum enrollment
- Administer the class enrollments through the website
- Procure books and materials for classes
- Install all course modules and optimize workstations prior to and following each class
- Set up and be on-site for all classes and exams offered; this will require working after hours and weekends as needed – estimated 15% of your time will be weekend classes, but flex time is tracked in these instances
- Remain compliant with Apple’s rules for Authorized Training Centers
- Serve as a proctor for all Apple exams, and any other exams the DMI may offer
- Edit and send electronic newsletters and other customer communications
- Serve as the point of contact for DMI (customers, potential customers, press, etc.)
- Draft or supervise drafting of press releases and promotional materials as needed
- Develop promotional materials
- Update the website for all DMI offerings
- Organize projects into tasks
- Gather and tabulate reports and survey data
- Maintain marketing collateral inventory and back-ordering materials as needed (for example, Apple certificates, exam codes, etc.)
- Assist in quantitative analysis related to ROI based online marketing
- Assist the Executive Director and others in regular marketing and outreach tasks
- Generate and manage video and other digital assets
- Take on increasing, additional responsibilities as the position evolves
- Other duties as assigned
