For many arts and cultural organizations, the social Web has been both an exciting and sometimes frustrating laboratory for experimenting with new ways to maximize awareness, engage audiences, foster community building and more.  This webinar explores the insights gained from these experiments and offers ways in which organizations can use this information to formulate strategies for more effectively utilizing social media and social networks without draining financial and human resources.

In this 90-minute session, you will learn:

  • A strategy framework for communicating via social media and social networks
  • How to adjust expectations and set reasonable goals for constituent engagement
  • How to identify who in your organization should manage your digital identity
  • Tips and best practices for moving your towards the development of a solid social media strategy

About the Presenter
David Dombrosky is the Executive Director of the Center for Arts Management and Technology and contributing writer to the Technology in the Arts blog.  He has presented technology and social media workshops for the National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture, Chorus America, Opera America, College Art Association, Grantmakers in the Arts, and the Performing Arts Exchange.  Additionally, he teaches a course on U.S. cultural policy and advocacy for Carnegie Mellon’s Master of Arts Management program and advises graduate students on their capstone projects.

Logistics

  • The teleconference salon will be recorded in MP3 format and available for download on the NAMAC website. Participation in the salon implies consent for your voice to be recorded and distributed in this manner.
  • Space is limited to the first 30 NAMAC members who RSVP. Maximum two members per organization.
  • Once you’ve been confirmed as a participant, you will be sent the dial-in number for the teleconference and a unique access code.
  • Participants are responsible for their own long distance charges associated with the salons.
