Join Us And Be Counted!
What better time to be conducting a national survey of the field than a census year! Across multiple sectors, the field of public media and media arts are being surveyed. What makes NAMAC’s Mapping the Media Arts Field unique is our desire to create a baseline assessment of who we are and to launch a longitudinal study about independent media production and the communities we serve over time.
NAMAC is collecting data to create the most comprehensive scan of the field to date. With your help, we will establish a baseline of activity in the field that both encompasses and details our cultural, economic, community and network indicators and assets.
By participating in this major field-wide survey, you will be contributing to a major empirical data study. All participating organizations will have access to the results, and will be able to compare your organization with others across the nation. You will be able to make your case stronger when seeking funding and in educating elected officials. This data will arm you with the numbers to support the stories about our field so necessary in this challenging environment.
Your participation is critical to ensure that the media arts field is strong, visible, and being counted as a central player in the American creative economy. To participate in Mapping the Media Arts Field, or to suggest an organization we should contact, please send your contact name and email address to mapping@namac.org.
