Meet Ben Sheldon. Ben is Program Director at the Transmission Project, which will be closing its doors next month. He administers the Digital Arts Service Corps (formerly CTC VISTA Project), a national AmeriCorps*VISTA program that has built the capacity of media arts and technology organizations for more than 10 years.  [NAMAC's Rachel Allen, the interviewer, is a Digital Arts Service Corps member]

Ernesto Olivo is a Mexican immigrant from Nueva Rosita Coahuila. As a long time community organizer, he works with The Media Justice League a local media justice grassroots organization. He is part of Local 782, a San Antonio music coalition group of musicians and is currently doing art education in public schools for Artpace as an Associate Educator. He has played in many bands and manages the band Pop Pistol. He is a contemporary artist and uses his work to talk about multicultural and ethnic issues.

Ingrid Kopp is the director of Shooting People in the US – an international networking organization for independent filmmakers with over 38,000 members. I had the opportunity to chat with Kopp about engaging the "the people formally known as the audience”, distribution strategies for young filmmakers and examples of cross-platform storytelling.

Meet Nina Simon. She’s the author of the Museum 2.0 Blog and The Participatory Museum and she’s been called a “museum visionary.” In our Open Dialogue and on our blog, NAMAC community members have been talking about the challenges museums and art house cinema houses face when trying to engage audiences who desire a more active role in curating their own experiences. Recently I had an opportunity to chat with Simon about her book and about what the "participatory museum" model looks like in action.

Earlier this month, I chatted with Alex Curtis from Public Knowledge's Creators' Freedom Project, a new initiative that is focused on helping artists promote themselves in the digital world. The Creators' Freedom Project is currently developing case studies that will serve as business models for other artists to follow. So far, Nashville-based Indie-Pop quartet Parachute Musical is the Creators' Freedom Project's first case study. I talked to Alex Curtis about how The Creators' Freedom Project got started and what they hope to accomplish.
